If our bodies naturally produce magnesium, then why do we need a daily magnesium supplement?
Most of us experience a high amount of stress in our day to day lives. When we stress, our bodies excrete magnesium at a higher rate leaving us deficient in the nutrient. With a deficiency in magnesium, you’ll recognise a collection of symptoms you may have not even realised were linked... like feelings of anxiety and stress, headaches and migraines, cramping and muscle ‘restlessness’, as well as a contradicting feeling of fatigue paired with an inability to sleep.
What’s the most efficient way to increase our magnesium level?
With the introduction of a topical magnesium oil, you can begin boosting your bodies magnesium levels and avoid these uncomfortable symptoms. Topical magnesium oil applied through the transdermal method, is absorbed effectively through the skin and into your bloodstream, bypassing your digestive system (which would be used if you were taking an oral magnesium supplement) where only 30%-40% is absorbed.
When (and how) do we apply this magical oil?
Massage a generous layer of oil down the front of your legs and over the tops of your feet before bed. Let the oil sink into your skin.
Suffer from TMJ (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction)?
You can also do the same to your face, applying a very thin layer in order to provide relaxation to affected jaw muscles.
Magnesium enhances the body’s natural production of GABA and melatonin, which encourages relaxation and regulates sleep patterns.
Muscles feeling sore or restless?
Simply apply a generous amount to the oil to the target area and leave it to sink into the skin. The oil is a natural muscle relaxant and provides relief from muscle tension and post-gym workout soreness.
Headaches or migraines?
Do the same as above, but apply the oil to the tops of your traps and up the back of your neck and let the oil sink in.
A little advice on the side too… remember to wash your hands after each application - the oil leaves a salty residue on your hands which isn’t overly pleasant if it ends up in your eyes or your mouth. This also applies for open wounds or abrasions on the skin – this will be uncomfortable and may sting quite a bit.
To wrap it all up in summary – we believe magnesium supplementation is so essential. Whether you’re sleep-deprived and need a little help, or you’re the gym goer who wants to avoid stiff muscles… we could all use some magical magnesium oil in our lives.
